Our first ever Family Geography Night will be on Thursday, Feb, 2 from 6-8 pm. Highlights include a Map museum in the library, Currencies of Asia, Scents of Asia, family games on the giant map, and much more. We are looking for: Unusual maps for the Map Museum Asian Currency volunteers to help with our Open House anytime on Saturday, 1/28 volunteers to help take a 30 min shift at Edison's Family Geography night 2/2 If you can help with any of these things, contact Karen Stezowski 312-218-4972 or karens@xnet.com Winter Warrrior Walk to School Wednesday Feb 1st < Save the Date: Winter Warrior Walk to School Wednesday, Feb 1st Put on your winter gear on & Walk to School :) Hot Chocolate & Tea will be served to all students & parents who walk to school. We will have stamps, stickers and Raffle Tickets!!! Please note this is the only walk to school Wednesday until after spring break. Anyone interested in being a part of this fun, PTA sponsored publication is invited to attend a meeting on Friday, February 3rd at 2:00 PM in the Edison conference room. We are looking for people to take photographs at several upcoming school events as well as assist with the publication of the yearbook itself. No experience is necessary; the process is really quite easy to learn! Most importantly, we want your pictures!!! If you have taken photographs at ANY school related activity this year, we would love to include them in the yearbook! First day of school & Ice Cream Social & Classroom Volunteers & Classroom Parties & Field Trips& the list is endless!!! If you are interested in helping with the yearbook, or have any questions & OR, if you have photographs you would like to contribute, please contact Martha McGreal at mmcgreal@comcast.net Race To Nowhere Feb 8th "Race to Nowhere" All parent sare urged to attend this free screening of the award winning film "Race To Nowhere" a call to mobilize families, educators and policy makers to challenge the current assumptions on how to best prepare America's youth to become healthy, bright and contributing citizens of our country. The Program will run from Jan 9th through Feb. 27th. Please note there will not be class on 1/16 or 2/20. There will be 2 classes offered: Elementary Drawing for 1st-2nd Grade students and Cartoon Drawing for 3rd-5th Grade students. Participation will be limited to the first 18 students that enroll in each class.
